As you may or may not know, I am legally blind. I also have a background in culinary arts as a pastry Chef. And, I also enjoy cooking. I've never been one who was interested in purchasing an air fryer when they first became popular back in 2010. I never really saw the use or need for one since I rarely fried anything at home. After all, when the words air fryer came out of anyone's mouth, all I knew about them was that they fried foods with 80% less grease. I never bothered to even look into all the pros of owning or having one until recently. Here we are over a decade later, and I'm like why am I just now finding out about this amazing small kitchen appliance. It's not anyone's fault other than my own as to why I waited so long to own one. But looking back, I'm glad I didn't get one any sooner than I did. Times have changed since a decade ago when air fryers were limited to the features they offered. And, with technology leading the way, even small kitchen appliances have become Smart appliances by way of WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. In saying that, let me tell you about the air fryer I decided to purchase and a few of the reasons why I chose this particular brand and model.
The Cosori Dual Blaze 6.8 Quart Smart Air Fryer with 360 Thermal IQ Technology recently made its debut and I for one couldn't be more thrilled to have waited all this time to purchase my very first air fryer which happened to be this brand and model. I'm going to be sharing my honest opinions and thoughts as well as talk about the things that make this air fryer easy to use if you are blind or vision impaired. So, let's get right to it...
For starters, lets get into the specs of this bad boy:
* Power - 750 Watt Air Fryer.
* Weight - 13.7 pounds.
* Dimensions - 11.7" by 12.9" by 13.8".
* Basket Capacity - Approximately 6.8 quarts without grate insert.
* Display - Digital Touch Screen.
Now, lets talk about the features:
* Compatibility - Alexa and Google Home compatible.
* Preset Buttons - All presets can be adjusted and saved to your preferences.
* Dual heating elements on both the top and bottom allow for even cooking without flipping food over.
* App Controlled - Download the VeSync app from either your Android or Apple device to gain access to tons of air fryer recipes you can make when you add your air fryer to the device list in the app. You can also control the cooking time and temperature as well as keep track of the cooking time left on the air fryer.
I'm sure i'm missing several other great features this air fryer has. However, the ones listed above are the main reasons why I decided to go with the Cosori Dual Blaze Air Fryer.
As a legally blind Chef and Professional Baker, I'm always on the hunt for kitchen gadgets, tools, and smart appliances to make my time in the kitchen more efficient by using accessible items. With this air fryer, there is no more need to flip anything you are air frying or baking in the Cosori Dual Blaze because of the double heating elements. I can't imagine that having to flip hot food that's inside of an even hotter basket is easy for anyone, let alone someone who is blind or vision impaired. So, this was a huge plus in my book. Also, I love the fact that I am able to add this appliance to my list of Alexa enabled devices in my home. Because I also have a smart oven microwave connected, I have noticed that trying to control the air fryer with my voice becomes a bit confusing for Alexa because they are both in the "oven" category. So, what I have to do now when using my smart oven microwave, is press the Ask Alexa button on the microwave display so that I don't have to say her name before voice controlling the microwave, Then, when I want to use Alexa to control my air fryer, for example, I simply say the following: Alexa, set the air fryer to 380 degrees for 12 minutes. Or, Alexa, set the air fryer to bake at 320 degrees for 19 minutes, depending on what I'm making, of course. Before I forget, upon watching several video reviews online, I saw that this particular air fryer was one of the most quietest of them all. It wasn't silent, but it defiantly isn't one of the loudest of air fryers.
So, when I tell you that this air fryer is a find, it is in fact a blind find. Meaning, I have been using it every day in the short time that I have owned it. And, I couldn't be happier with this find. All I can say is I love using this air fryer and I think you will too. But, don't take my word for it.
